Our Story
Tap Payments was founded to solve a problem every Australian merchant knows too well: the high cost of payment processing. With card payments now accounting for the majority of retail transactions, businesses of all sizes are paying thousands of dollars a year in processing fees — money that could be reinvested into growth, staff, or better customer experiences.
We noticed that payment terminals sit idle most of the day, and when they're in use, customers are looking right at the screen. We turned that observation into Tap Payments — an ad-supported payment platform that cuts merchant processing fees in half.
By displaying advertising on payment terminals, we generate revenue that directly reduces merchant fees. It's a model that works for everyone: merchants save money, advertisers reach engaged consumers at the point of purchase, and customers benefit from lower prices as businesses pass on their savings.
